Celebrating June: Crafting a Summer-Inspired Shaker Card

Outlawz Twisted Challenge June 2026

How did we get to June already? It’s going to be a busy month around here with lots of birthdays and anniversaries including my own and I am so behind on my making list. My daughter is also wrapping up her first year at University and will be home for the summer.

The June Outlawz Twisted Challenge was based on these colours

The colours along with the image made me think of a peaceful relaxing beach. I used a cut file from Cricut Design Space designed by Anna Draicchio depicting a cocktail. The card is a shaker design. A shaker card features a clear, enclosed window filled with loose items like sequins, beads, or confetti that move and rattle when shaken. The card has several layers of card to create a void for the sequins then a layer of acetate to cover the sequins. The layers need to be well stuck together to stop sequins escaping. The layers were cut on my Cricut Explore 4.

I was able to create the card using the colours from the challenge, as I had some sequins just the right colour, and the inspiration of the image, to create a very summery feel card. The cocktail is then mounted on blue card and a bubble pattern backing on a white card. My photo of the card is then added onto a beach scene background generated with AI for display.

It was a fun card to make and could be used for many celebrations.
