January Song and Rhyme

The Outlawz challenge website is changing and we now have new categories beginning on January 1st 2026. There are less categories and each challenge will be monthly starting on 1st of the month. I am on the design team for two of the categories, Anything but a card, ABAC and Twisted.

ABAC is exactly as it says, anything but a card and will give people a chance to share other crafts or try something different. Some months have a theme, others are anything at all.

Twisted is running along the lines of the themed categories we had before, eg songs and rhymes, colours, greetings. The categories will rotate through the year. January is Song and Rhyme.

There is a third group which is Christmas, ever month is Christmas themed. I am not good at getting Christmas things made so did not join this team, but maybe if I had then I would get more stuff made!

So back to the twisted challenge. The twist for January is Songs and Rhymes, based on the song, the author is unknown.

As this is a New Year post, I decided to make a calendar as I had seen a bee one on Cricut Design space, designed by Apple Grove Designs. It is free to Cricut Access subscribers. The calendar is drawn and cut on my Cricut Explore 4. The design also includes a stand to cut and the pages on the calendar sit on the stand with the bee details showing from behind. One thing I like about Apple Grove design calendars is that you can choose either a Sunday or Monday start to the week. I personally find Sunday starts confusing. I made several other of her designs and gave them as Christmas presents. I have just realised that I didn’t make one for myself!

It is not clear in the picture, but the bee is made from glitter card. They are quite quick and easy to make, so I will have to make one for myself when I get my craft space back next week.
